Coming Soon
Living in Northampton (the home of Cosworth and Ilmor) with Silverstone less than 10 miles away it's not surprising we have an interest in F1. Also nearby are the Williams HQ at Didcot, Jordan at Silverstone and McLaren in Woking.
If you know any useful links : F1 teams, touring car sites, etc or you want your motorsport site linked to, just mail us and we'll have a look. Our aim is to have a link to every Formula 1 team, and then to start on the Engine manufacturers and sponsors (where they're interesting).
Overall this season promises to be an exciting and competitive one, after more changes to driver line ups than has happened for 3 or 4 years, largely due to Michael Schumacher's move away from Benetton and his replacement by Jean Alesi.
Very soon we'll be having a look forward to the new F1 season about to start. All eyes will be on the twice world champion Michael Schumacher, can he become the first driver since Fangio to make it 3 World Championships in a row.
Schumacher has already announced he doesn't think he has a hope of winning the championship this year for Ferrari and that 1997 will be year he makes his next serious challenge for the title. Do we believe him ? The official line from Ferrari seems to be that they'll be pleased with 2 or 3 wins this season - BUT you don't pay a driver $25 million a season to win 2 or 3 races !
Damon Hill must be a favourite for the title after his last 2 seasons near misses and how will Jacques Villeneuve cope at Williams fresh from winning the Indy Series last year? His Estoril times seem to suggest he is on the pace with Damon.
Also how will David Coulthard fare at McLaren, it should be an opportunity to prove his excellence without the Williams.
And will Eddie Irvine keep up with Herr Schumacher at Ferrari. Rumour has it that he (Eddie) has hardly been given a chance to drive the '96 Ferrari with its new V10 engine (a first for Ferrari). Looks like Michael is on his way to dominating another team.
We'll also be following all the other British drivers closely through the season, how will Johhny Herbert fare in the Sauber compared to German ace Heinz-Harold Frentzen. I'll publish Estoril test times as soon I have any.
Another driver to watch will be Martin Brundle in his first season at Jordan. One of the most experianced Drivers in F1 today his excellent test time at Estoril (ahead of team mate Rubens) is hopefully an indication that Jordan will be more competitive this season, and won't suffer from the reliablility nightmare they had last season.
Sadly missing this season are Mark Blundell now racing in the American Indy series (he's presently recovering from a nasty accident), and Derek Warwick (who may have had his last F1 drive), two drivers who deserve a drive more than some, not mentioning any names (Taki Inoue).
Until the season begins and we get some photo's, here's some pictures from Silverstone 1995, all taken by Paul Black : student and photographer, struggling with a hangover after a good night out in and around Siverstone ! Many thanks.
One of the Touring cars driven by privateer H.Irvine gets into a spin in the wet.

David Coultard in his Williams Renault on his way to coming second from Johnny Herbert, if it hadn't been for the Stop-Go penalty who knows ? Better luck next time with McLaren.

Tim Harvey in the Volvo touring car, not his best day either.

One of the more outrageous Porsches we saw in the SuperCup.

The totally ridulously fast Espace F1 based on the running gear of Damon Hill's 1994 Williams, designed to frighten the life out of journalists who want to know what being in a Formula One car is like. Being driven by ex F1 Driver Eric Bernard with passenger Chancellor Kenneth Clarke.
